Surrey Golf Club August 4 2007

Week 22 of the 2007 season was played at the Surrey Golf Club with 48 members and guests participating in all three divisions. This week saw 1 first time winner, and 2 three time winners take their respective divisions.

In the “A” division Martin Abel got his first win of the year. Marty carded a round of 7 under par 65 with 6 pars and 2 birdies to win by 2 strokes over Jess Supnet.

Dave Hollinshead continued his hot play of late to take the “B” division in a tie-breaker over Ellis Natividad. Dave shot a round of 62, 10 under par, including 4 pars on his round. This was Dave’s 3rd win of the year and his 2nd in the last 3 weeks. He also advanced to the next round of the Match Play with a decisive win.

In the Ladies Division Shamira Jessa got her 3rd win of the year with a 6 shot victory over Ellen Hayes and Laurie Jewell. Shamira carded a round of 9 under par 66.

This weeks KP winners were: G. Cortes (guest), Kevin Jewell with 3, Shamira Jessa with 2, Laurie Jewell and Norma De Chavez.

Individual leaders for the day were Aaron Ferrer with 14 pars and the low gross of the day at 74, and Kevin Jewell with 3 birdies.

Next weekends tournament at Ft. Langley will be our 6th Major of the year.

Club Championship Reminder

To qualify for the 2007 Club Championships all members must have the minimim 10 rounds played during the regular season. There are 3 tournaments left in which to qualify.

Tournament Update

The Presidents Cup Tournament on October 6th is now scheduled to start at 8:30am. This will give everyone a chance to finish early and attend the year end party that will follow the round.
