Homestead Golf Club in Lyndon Wash. was the site for the 2010 Players Championship with a field of 29 members taking part. Bob Hayes took this years title with a tiebreaker win over Boy Holgado, Bob shot a round of 91, net 71. After a slow start to the season Bob ended the year with 2 wins in his last 2 tournaments.

Jesse Reyes defeated Sonnie Guerrero 6 and 5 to take the Match Play title for 2010. Congratulations Jesse.

The Oct. 2nd tournament at Swaneset is the Presidents Cup with a year end BBQ to be held after the round, the cost of the BBQ will be $10 for food and beverages, make sure to confirm your spot in the tournament early so the teams can be determined.

The final regular season Tournament was held on Saturday at the Surrey Golf Club with a field of 41 members taking part. Jess Supnet carded a round of 82, net 67, to take the top spot in the “A” Division in a tiebreaker over JoJo Hernandez, this was the 3rd win for Jess. In the “B” Division Bob Hayes got his 1st win of the year with a 2 shot victory over Butch Tinio, Bob shot a round of 87, net 66.

This week was the last round for the 2010 Club Championships. Martin Abel is this years “A” Division champion with a total score of -6, 5 strokes up on runnerup Jess Supnet. Rene Trindiad took the title for the “B” Division with a total score of -6, just 1 shot better than Ellis Natividad. Congratulations to both Martin and Rene for their fine play over the last 4 weeks!

The Match Play final was determined this week with Sonnie Guerrero defeating Lance Kraus 5 and 4 to advance to the final match against Jesse Reyes.

In the final week for Player of the Year points Jesse Reyes secured his spot at the top of the standings by earning 4 points this week. Jesse takes the title by 19 points over Mark Pitman.

The KP winners this week are Lance Kraus with 2, and Martin Abel and Jess Supnet with 1 each.

Our next tournament will be the Players Championship to be played at the Homestead Golf Club in Linden Wash. The winner is decided by the low net score among all the players, there is no “A” and “B” Division split this week.

This is election year to decide the new Directors for 2011 – 2012. Anyone interested in becoming a Director is asked to enter their names before Sept. 18th. You can enter by email at mail at parbreakers.ca or by signing up at the tournament check-in.

Voting will begin on Sept. 22nd and run until Sept. 30th. A voting form will be made available on the website starting Sept. 22nd. Voting will also take place on Oct. 2nd at the windup BBQ after the round at Swaneset. All ballots will be counted and the new Directors will be named at that time.

Please note that all ballots must have 9 nominees voted for, all ballots with less or more than the required 9 will not be counted.

Round 3 of the Club Championships were held last Saturday at the Carnoustie Golf Club. Two first time winneres took both Divisions this week. Ryan Isaac carded a round of 79, net 66 to take the “A” Division by 3 shots over Fred Marasigan. Rene Trinidad’s round of 95, net 69, was good enough to take the top spot in the “B” Division by 3 shots over Danny Aganon.

The KP winners were Paul Dhaliwal, Robin Perrin with 2, and Ravi Jandu.

Sonnie Guerrero defeated Paul Dhaliwal in the Match Play competition and now moves on to play Lance Kraus with the winner going to the final.

The Pitman Team wrapped up the top spot in the Team Event this week by placing 2nd this week. They take the title with 133 pts. followed by Team Emerson with 120.5 and Team J. Tan with 106.5 pts.

The Player of the Year race comes down to the last weekend with Jesse Reyes leading the standings with 150 pts. with Mark Pitman in 2nd with 133 pts.

In the Club Championships, Robin Perrin leads the way in the “A” Division after 3 rounds with a 1 over par total, followed by Martin Abel at +2 with Fred Marasigan and Jess Supnet close behind at 4 over. Rene Trinidad leads the way in the “B” Division with a 6 under par total followed by Ellis Natividad and Danny Aganon both with 4 under par.

The players qualifying for the 2010 Club Championship rounds are listed on the ParBreakers Golf Association of British Columbia‘s home page.

All players handicaps will remain frozen for the next 4 rounds.

Best 3 rounds will decide the winners.

40 players teed it up on Saturday in the 2nd round of the Club Championships held at the Hazelmere Golf Club. Scoring was tough thanks to the fast, tricky greens with the “A” Division averaging 89 and the “B” Division averaging 102, only 6 players managed to post net scores of par or better.

Kevin Jewell returned to form this week with a round of 80, net 65, taking the “A” Division title by 4 strokes over Craig Thomas, this was Kevin’s 2nd win of the year. In the “B” Division, Jay Isaac also got his 2nd win of the season with a 1 shot victory over Ellis Natividad, Jay carded a score of 89, net 67.

There were 2 Match Play games played this week with Paul Dhaliwal advancing to the next round with a tiebreaker win over Jess Supnet, and Sonnie Guerrero defeated Jonni C. 1 up.

It has come down to a 2 player race for the title of Player of the Year between Jesse Reyes and Mark Pitman, with 2 weeks remaining Jesse holds a 20 point advantage over Mark.

After 2 rounds of play in the Club Championships Martin Abel holds a 3 stroke advantage over Robin Perrin in the “A” Division. On the “B” side Ellis Natividad leads the field at -6, 2 strokes up on Rene Trinidad.

Round 1 of the 2010 Club Championship was held this past weekend at the Surrey Golf Club with a field of 32 entered.

Martin Abel recorded his 2nd win in a row in the “A” Division with a score of net 67 and a 3 stroke advantage over Noel Ortiz Luis and Willie Ducay. Sonny Rarama got his 1st win of the season in the “B” Division with a 3 shot victory over Rene Trinidad and Danny Aganon, Sonny shot a round of net 66.

The KP winners this week were, Ellis Natividad, Lance Kraus, Frank Wongsoo and Rene De Leon.

In the Team event, the Hayes Team took the top spot with a team total of 148 points followed by Team Pitman with 142 and Team Emerson with 139.

In the lone Match Play game Danny Aganon defeated Jun Tan in a tiebreaker.

Martin Abel takes a 4 shot lead into the 2nd round in the “A” Division Playoffs with Sonny Rarama leading the “B” Division by 3 shots. The 2nd round goes this Saturday at the Hazelmere Golf Club.

The final round of the Regular season was held this weekend at the Guildford Golf Club with a field of 32 taking part. This week saw 2 first time winners taking the top spots in both Divisions.

Martin Abel carded 11 pars and 1 birdie on his round of 79, net 66, to take the “A” Division by 2 shots over Robin Perrin. In the “B” Division, Danny Aganon shot a round of 96, net 64, to win by 2 strokes over Jun Tan and Ken Emerson.

The Kp winners this week were, Martin Abel with 2, Dom Cejalvo and Paul Dhaliwal.

The Team Event winners this week was tied between the Pitman Team and the Emerson Team, each with 137 combined points, followed by the Trinidad Team with 129 points.

In the Match Play event, Danny Aganon defeated Dave Giles and Jesse Reyes advanced to the final defeating Lance Kraus.
