32 players participated in this weeks tournament held at the Hazelmere Golf Club, marking the start of the 2011 Club Championship.

With only 7 of the 32 players managing to post rounds of par or better it is safe to say the course came out the winner this week. The average score for the “A” Division came in at 3 over par 75, with the “B” Division posting an average of 5 over par 77.

Bob Hayes got his 1st win of the year with a round of 85, net 66, taking the top spot by 2 shots over Boy Holgado. Bob recorded 8 pars and 1 birdie on the day.

Sonnie Guerrero took the “B” Division getting his 2nd win on a round of 91, net 66, 2 strokes better than Rene Trinidad.

Kp winners this week were: Jay Isaac, Rudy Alcantara, Rene De Leon and Fred Marasigan.

Team Asistio took the top points in the Team event with 111 combined points with Team Hayes in 2nd with 110 and Team Supnet with 105. Team Emerson continues it’s slim lead in the overall standings with 113 points just 4 points up on Team Hayes with 3 weeks remaining.

Kevin Jewell was crowned the 2011 Match Play Champion this weekend with his 5 and 4 win over Ken Emerson.

Guildford Golf Club August 20, 2011

The Guildford Golf Club hosted week 20 with a field of 20 Members and guests. With the hot dry conditions scoring was good with 11 players carding rounds of par or better.

In the “A” Division, Ken Emerson got his 4th win of the year by taking the top spot by 2 shots over Rudy Alcantara with a net score of 68. In the “B” Division, Dom Cejalvo got his 1st win with a 1 shot advantage over Jesse Reyes, Dom carded a round of net 67.

Robin Perrin got the Leagues 2nd Eagle of the year by recording a 3 on the par 5 5th hole.

The KP winners were: Ken Emerson, Jess Supnet, Randy Gibson and Jon Cuhat.

In the Team event the Hayes Team took the top points this week with 113 followed by Team Emerson with 112 and Team Asistio with 109. With 4 weeks remaining Team Emerson holds onto a slim 6 point advantage over Team Hayes for the title.

In the race for Player of the Year Ken Emerson goes into the last 4 weeks holding onto a 11 point lead over Rudy Alcantara with Jon Cuhat and Rene Trinidad tied in 3rd 22 points back.

This coming weekends Tournament marks the start of our Club Championship with round 1 being played at the Hazelmere Golf Club. All handicaps will remain frozen for the duration of the playoffs.
