The 2011 Directors Team Event will begin play on May 7th and continue each week until September 17th with the final round.

A field of 36 Members and Guests took part in the Week 4 Tournament held at the Surrey Golf Club under sunny and warm playing conditions. With the good playing conditions scores were expected to be low, however, only 3 players carded rounds of par or better.

In the “A” Division, Kevin Jewell’s round of 85 net 70 was good enough to edge out Willie Ducay by 1 shot to take the top spot. In the “B” Division Jun Tan started out slow but a fine back nine of 41 netted him a round of 73 to take the title in a tiebreaker over Jay Isaac.

In the Match Play Event Kevin Jewell, Jun Tan, Rene De Leon, Rudy Alcantara, Ken Emerson and Mark Pitman all posted wins to advance to the next round.

The weeks KP winners were, Rudy Alcantara, Jess Supnet, Boy Holgado and Jesse Reyes.

Please note that the starting time for the April 30th tournament at Guildford has been moved to 10:00 A.M.

This weekends tournament was held at the Hazelmere Golf Club with 27 members entered into the field. The cool weather and wet course conditions yielded higher than normal scores with only 2 players managing to post scores of net par.

In the “A” Division, Jon Cuhat recorded his 2nd victory in a row with a score of net 71, two shots better than Rene De Leon, Kevin Jewell and Rudy Alcantara.

On the “B” side, Dick Elrick got his 1st win of the year with a score of net par 71 beating out James Gonzaga and Gary Perrin by 2 strokes.

The KP winners this week were Kevin Jewell, James Gonzaga, Mark Pitman and Bob Hayes.

This week also saw the start of the 2011 Match Play event with 6 matches played, Kevin Jewell, Bob Hayes, Jun Tan, Jess Supnet, James Gonzaga and Paul Dhaliwal all advanced to the 2nd round with wins.

Mayfair Lakes Golf Club hosted the April 9th tournament with a field of 36 members taking part. This was our first time playing at Mayfair and the scores for the day were high with no scores of par or better being posted.

Rudy Alcantara and Paul Dhaliwal both turned in rounds of net 72 with Rudy prevailing in the tie-breaker to take the title in the “A” Division. Jon Cuhat also carded a round of 72 to take the “B” Division top spot by 2 shots over Dick Elrick.

The KP winners for the day were, Nick Asistio, Jun Tan, Robin Perrin and Doug Hume.

With his win this week Rudy takes the lead in the overall point standings with 19 points 3 points up on Mark Pitman.

The opening round of the 2011 season was played at the Northview Golf Club with 41 Members taking part in the days activities. With the less than ideal weather and playing conditions the scores for the day were surprisingly good with 14 players posting rounds of par or better. Mark Pitman posted the best round of the day with a score of 73, net 65 to take the “A” Division title by 1 shot over Rudy Alcantara. Mark recorded 12 pars and 3 birdies on his round with 2 birdies on the final 2 holes to secure his 1 shot victory. On the “B” side, returning as a member after a few years off, Gary Perrin posted a score of 68 to take the title by 1 stroke over James Gonzaga.
