Rain was the order of day for this week’s tournament held at the Belmont Golf Club with a field of 24 competing for the top spots. In the “A” division there were 4 scores posted at par or better with the average coming in at net 72. Paul Dhaliwal topped all players this week with his score of 79, net 63, and became the first 2 time winner of the year. He recorded 4 pars on his front nine shooting 41 and added another 7 pars on the back nine to shoot 38, a total of 79.

On the “B” division side, Jesse Reyes recorded a 3 shot victory over his nearest competitor. Jesse shot a round of 98, net 69, to get his first win of the year. With his victory this week Jesse moves into top spot in the Player of the Year standings holding a slim 0.5 pt. advantage over Paul Dhaliwal. Jesse also took Player of the Month honours with a total of 31 points for the Month of April.

The Kp winners this week were: Ken Emerson, Lance Kraus, Robin Perrin, Ryan Isaac, Bob Hayes and Jess Supnet.

There were 3 matches played in the Match Play event this week, the results were:

Swaneset Golf Resort hosted week #5 with a field of 30 members and guests participating. This weekend was no different than previous weeks with the weather playing a major part in the outcome. The rain, cold and winds seemed to play havoc on everyones game this week with only 2 scores recorded at par or better. Double digit scores were not uncommon with numerous players recording 10′s and 11′s in both divisions, with the “A” division average at 90 and the “B” side averaging 109

JoJo Hernandez carded a round of 82, net 71, to take the top spot in the “A” division in a tiebreaker over Kevin Jewell. JoJo’s round included 5 pars on the front side with 4 pars and 1 birdie on the last nine.

In the “B” division, first year member Tom Murray got his first win with a net score of 77, 2 strokes better than Tony Marasigan, Jesse Reyes, Rody Rongavilla and Rene Trinida

The KP winners this week were Paul Dhaliwal, Noel Ortiz Luis, JoJo Hernandez and Ken Emerson.

There were 4 matches played in the Match Play event this week, the results were:

Kings Links Golf Club was the site for week 4 of the season with a field of 24 taking part. Once again the weather was a factor with a frost delay and strong winds having their affect on the scores with only 7 players managing to post scores of par or better. The “A” division average score was 90 with the “B” division posting an average score of 101.

Paul Dhaliwal got his first win of the year in a tiebreaker over Mark Pitman in the “A” division. Paul carded a 42 on the front nine with 5 pars and added 3 more pars on the back nine to score 45 for a total of 87, net 72.

The “B” division also went to a tiebreaker with Dave Hollinshead winning over Dave Giles, both players posted scores of 69. Dave shot a 43 on the front with 4 pars, and a 46 on the back nine with 2 more pars along the way.

The Kp winners this week were, Lito Peralta, Mark Pitman, Dave Hollinshead and Joni C.

This week was the start of the 2010 Match Play event with 8 matches being played. The winners this week were, Dave Giles, Paul Dhaliwal, Michael Anthony, Rene De Leon, Mark Pitman, Ryan Isaac, Rody Rongavilla and Joni C.

The scheduled matches for this coming Saturday at Swaneset are:

Our first Major of the year was held on Saturday at the Meadow Gardens Golf Club with a field of 32 Members and guests taking part. Scores were high this week due to the cold and windy conditions throughout the day with only 4 players managing to post scores of par or better.

Mark Pitman posted 5 pars and a birdie on his front nine score of 40, while adding another 7 pars on the back nine for a score of 38 and a total score of 78, net 67, taking the “A” Division by 3 shots over JoJo Hernandez.

On the “B” side, Randy Gibson recorded a round of 90, net 70, to take the top spot by 3 strokes over Jesse Reyes and Jun Tan. Randy’s round included 4 pars on both the front and back nine.

The KP winners this week were, Menchie Tan, Brian Ashdown, Jun Tan and Mark Pitman.

The highlight of the day goes to Vic Legaspi for his Eagle 3 on the par 5 11th hole.

The 2010 Match Play will begin this coming Saturday at Kings Links with 8 matches scheduled.
