A field of 58 members and guests took part in this weekends tournament at the Surrey Golf Club. The field took full advantage of the dry conditions and excellent green conditions with 38 scores coming in at par or better.

In the “A” Division Nong Khammountry carded 15 pars, 2 birdies and 1 bogey to post a score of 71, net 61, to edge out Randy Gonzales by 1 stroke for the title. Sonnie Guerrero posted a score of net 59 to take the top spot in the “B” Division by 5 shots over Laurie Jewell, this was the 2nd wins for both Nong and Sonnie.

This weeks KP winners were, Rene Franco, Noel Ortiz Luis, Randy Gonzales and Doug Lauson.

Jun Tan, Randy Gonzales and Mark Pitman all advanced to the next round of the Match Play event with wins this week. Team Apacible took top points this week in the Team Event with a score of 175, 5 points more than 2nd place finishers Team Pitman. Rounding out the top 4 spots were Team Trinidad and Team Hayes both with scores of 164 points. Team Pitman increased it’s hold on the top spot overall, now leading by 14.5 pts. over Team Emerson.

JoJo Hernandez continues to hold on to a slim 0.5 pt. lead over Jess Supnet for the Player of the Year title with Rene Cusi and Joni C. all within striking distance.

Meadow Gardens Golf Club hosted our 5th Major tournament of the season on Saturday with a field of 40 players entered. Scoring conditions were ideal with over half the field posting scores of par or better. Robin Perrin recorded the best round of the day, with 12 pars and 1 birdie and a score of 77.

This weeks “A” Division winner was Noel Ortiz luis getting his 1st win of season with a score of net 65 and a 2 stroke edge over Robin. Noel’s round included 1 birdie and 8 pars. The “B” Division title went to Tony Marasigan with his 2nd win in a row. Tony carded a round of net 61 and took the top spot by 4 shots over 3 other players.

The Kp prizes went to Joni C, Randy Gibson, M. Viray and Laurie Jewell.

Team Marasigan took the top spot in the Team Event with a combined team score of 166 pts. 2nd place went to Team Trinidad with 156 pts. with Team Hayes taking 3rd with 154 pts. Team Pitman continues to hold down top spot overall with 85.5 pts. 9 pts up on Team Marasigan.

Kings Links Golf Club was the site for week #18 of the 2009 season, with a field of 28 members and guests entered. The scoring conditions were good, however, with the tricky greens and pin positions the scores for the day were high with only 7 players managing to come in at par or better.

Doug Hume carded a round of 77, net 69, to take the “A” Division in a tiebreaker over Jess Supnet and GV Fragante. Doug’s round included 9 pars and 3 birdies giving him his 1st win of the year.

In the “B” Division, Tony Marasigan recorded a 1 shot victory over Joni C and Michael Anthony. Tony carded 3 pars and 1 birdie on his way to a round of net 71, this was also Tony’s 1st win.

The winners of the KP’s were Robin Perrin with 2, Marc Thomas and Tony Marasigan.

Top spot in this week’s Team Event went to Team Emerson with a total of 145 pts. with Team Hayes coming in 2nd with 138 pts. followed by Team Trinidad with 130 pts. This week was the halfway mark in the Team competition with Team Pitman holding on to the overall top spot with a margin of 8.5 pts over Team Emerson.

In the race for the Player of Year title, JoJo Hernandez holds a slim 0.5 pt lead over Jess Supnet and 4.5 pts up on Rene Cusi, things could change this weekend with our 5th Major of the year with all points doubled.

A field of 44 entered this weeks tournament held at the Carnoustie Golf Club. As is nearly always the case the course proved to be tough scoring for the majority of the field with only 15 players recording scores of par or better. The low round of the day was turned in by GV Fragante with a score of 80.

In the “A” Division, Jess Supnet fired off 10 pars on his round of 81, net 67, to get his 2nd win of the year with a 1 shot edge over Lance Kraus. Dom Cejalvo took the top spot in the “B” Division with a tiebreaker win over Marissa Fragante, Dom recorded 4 pars and 1 birdie on his round of 90, net 68, this was Dom’s 1st win for 2009.

JoJo Hernandez strengthened his lead in the Player of the Year race with his tie for 5th place and 4.5 points, his lead is now 4.5 over Rene Cusi.

This week’s KP winners were Lynne Hayes, Bob Hayes and Kevin Jewell.

In the lone Match Play contest Martin Abel edged out Robin Perrin in a tiebreaker to advance to the next round.

Team Pitman rebounded after an off week to take the top spot in the Team event with a combined team score of 145, led by Lance Kraus and Dom Cejalvo’s 39 pts. Jun Tan’s team came in a close 2nd with 144 points with Team Apacible picking up 3rd place points with 138 combined pts. Team Pitman increased its overall lead to 10 pts. over the Marasigan team and 10.5 pts over team J. Tan.
