Week 16 of the season seen our first trip to the Belmont Golf Club with a field of 48 players in attendance. The scoring conditions were ideal however, only 10 players in the field were able to card scores of par or better.

JoJo Hernandez continued his hot streak getting his 3rd win of the year and his 2nd win in a row with a score of 76, net 64, and a 4 stroke victory over Reden Hernandez. JoJo recorded 12 pars and 6 bogeys on his round to card the best score of the day.

In the “B” Division, Ken Emerson got his 1st win of the year with a round of 86, net 67, to win by 2 shots over 3 other players.

The KP winners this week were Rene Cusi, Ryan Isaac, Roger Schumann, Fred Marasigan, Jay Isaac and Sonnie Guerrero.

With his win this weekend JoJo takes over the lead in the Player of The Year Standing with 82 pts. 1 up on Rene Cusi and 7 up on Willie Ducay.

In the Team event Team Emerson took the top spot for the 2nd week in a row with a total of 147 pts. followed by Team Apacible with 142 and Team J. Tan with 140 pts. The overall standings tightened up this week thanks to an off week by the leaders Team Pitman, they still hold down the top spot with a 7 pt. lead over Team Marasigan and 7.5 pts. up on Team Emerson.

Congratulations to Fred Marasigan on being named Player of the Month for June, Fred got 1 win, 1 second and 1 third place finish to record 34 pts. for the month

Hazelmere Golf and Country Club was the site for the 4th Major Tournament of the 2009 season with 56 members and guests competing. The tournament produced two repeat winners taking the top spots in each Division.

In the “A” Division, JoJo Hernandez got his 2nd win of the year with a score of 82, net 69. JoJo carded 7 pars and 1 birdie to take the title in a tiebreaker over Nong Khammountry. In the “B” Division, Ellis Natividad got win #3 on a round of 90, net 68. Ellis recorded 4 pars on the day and took the title in a tiebreaker over Fred Marasigan. With 20 points each for their wins both JoJo and Ellis moved closer to the leader of the Player of the Year Standings, Rene Cusi’s lead is now just 6 points over Willie Ducay and 8 points over JoJo.

The KP winners this week were, Ellis Natividad, Fred Marasigan, Doug Hume and Cholo Cebrero.

Team Emerson led by Michael Anthony’s 38 points captured top spot in this weeks team event with a total of 151 points, the Team of J. Tan came in 2nd with 138 pts. and Team Marasigan took 3rd with 137. Team Pitman still holds on to the overall lead with 63 pts. 11.5 up on Team Marasigan with the teams of J. Tan and Emerson lurking 15 pts. back.

Week 14 of the season was hosted by the Kings Links Golf Club with a field of 48 attending. The windy conditions and tough pin placements proved to be too much for the majority of field with only 11 players carding scores of par or better.

Brian Ashdown shot a round of 5 over par 77 to record a net total of 62 and win the “A” Division by a commanding 8 strokes over Jess Supnet. Brian’s round included 13 pars, the best of the day.

In the “B” Division, Michael Anthony got his first win with a round of net 68 and a tie-breaker win over Rody Rongavilla.

The winners of the KP’s were Rody Rongavilla, Michael Anthony, Mark Pitman and Jess Supnet.

In the Team Event Brian Ashdown’s 46 pts. led the Pitman Team to victory with a combined total of 158 pts. followed by Team Trinidad with 140 pts. and Team Gonzaga with 138 pts. The win this week gives the Pitman team a 12.5 point lead over 2nd place Team Marasigan.

In the only Match Play game Ryan Isaac defeated Marc Thomas 5 up.

Warm and dry conditions were the order of the day at Redwoods Golf Club last Saturday with a full field of 48 members seeking to become this weeks winners. Despite the tricky pin placements 16 players came in with scores of par or better. Binky Cruz kept his perfect record intact with his 2nd win in only 2 starts, his round of 82, net 63, was good enough for a 1 shot victory over Willie Ducay. Binky recorded 9 pars and 1 birdie on his round. In the “B” division Fred Marasigan got his 2nd win of the year with a round of 87, net 66, and a 1 shot advantage over Jesse Reyes.

The low round of the day was shared by Reden Hernandez and Mark Pitman, both players carded rounds of 77. This weeks KP winners were Mark Pitman with 3, and Dave Giles with 1.

In the Team Event the team of M. Tan led by Binky’s 44 points took the top spot with a team total of 154 pts. followed by Team Pitman with 151 and Team Apacible with 147 pts. Team Pitman increased its hold on 1st place in the overall standings with an 8.5 pt lead over Team Marasigan, and 9.5 up on Team M. Tan.

In the “Lone Ranger” team event the team of R. Hernandez, J. Chavez, M. Fragante and J. Reyes took the title with a combined team score of 166.

The Guildford Golf Club hosted week 12 with field of 48 members taking part in the tournament. This week scores were the best of season with 26 players posting rounds of par or better. The “A” Division went to Paul Dhaliwal with a tie breaker victory over Martin Abel, both players posted scores of net 63. Paul’s round included 2 birdies, 6 pars and 10 bogeys for a gross score of 80. On the “B” side Ellis Natividad recorded win # 2 of the year with a record setting score of net 58, three shots better than runner up Gely Canete. Ellis carded a round of 83 with 7 pars, 1 birdie, 9 bogeys and 1 double bogey.

Rene Cusi padded his lead in the overall standings with a tie for 4th and 6.5 points, his lead increased to 14.5 pts. over Jess Supnet.

The KP winners this week were: Rene De Leon, Jess Supnet, Ellis Natividad and Reden Hernandez.

Jun De Chavez recorded an eagle 3 on the par 5, 14th hole to join Jess and Roberto as the only players to get an eagle this year.

In the Team Event the Apacible Team took top spot this week with a total of 159 pts. followed closely behind by Team J. Tan with 158 and Team Gonzaga with 155. The Pitman Team continues to hang on to first place with a total of 41 pts. 3.5 points up on Team Marasigan.

Take note that this Saturdays tournament at Redwoods has been moved up to 12:04 to accomadate the number of entries. Also, please take note that this weekend is also our first “Team Event” competition with each foursome representing a team, the format for this event is called “Lone Ranger”. A description of the format is available by going to the Tournament link at the top of the page and clicking on the “Team Event formats” link.
