Northview Golf & Country Club was the site for the 3rd Major Tournament of the 2009 season, with a full field of 52 entered. The scores on the day reflected the excellent playing conditions with 14 players recording scores of par or better.

Rene Cusi continued his dominance of the “A” Division with his 3rd win of the season. Rene carded 10 pars on his way to a round of 81, net 64, and a 3 shot victory over Jess Supnet, with his victory Rene continues to lead the way in the Player of the Year standings with 66.5 points, 9 up on Jess Supnet.

In the “B” Division Jesse Reyes got his first win of the year on a round of 99, net 67, and a 2 shot win over runner-up Jun Tan.

This weeks KP winners were, Randy Moore with 2, Sonny Rarama and Marc Hung.

Congratulations to Jess Supnet and Rob Tambunting for getting the first “eagles” of the year. Jess recorded a 2 on the par 4, 15th hole with Rob getting a 3 on the par 5, 18th.

Team Marasigan took top points in this weeks team event led by Jesse Reyes with 45 points and a team total of 151 pts. Team Pitman came in a close 2nd with 145 pts. followed by Team Gonzaga with 144 and Team Emerson with 143 Pts. In the overall standings Team Pitman holds down the top spot with a slim 2.5 point margin over Team Marasigan.

Please take note the change in the start time for next weekends tournament, the new time is 9:15 a.m.

The Surrey Golf Club was the site for week #10 of the season with a field of 48 entered. JoJo Hernandez carded a round of 80, net 66, to take the top spot in the “A” Division in a tiebreaker over Reden Hernandez. Fred Marasigan took the honours in the “B” Division with a round of 87, net 64, and a 3 shot win over runner-up Rody Rongavilla, for JoJo and Fred this was their first wins of the season.

The KP winners this week were Mark Pitman, Marc Thomas, Fred Marasigan and Martin Abel.

In the Team Event “team Apacible” took the top spot this week with a combined total of 151 points. Fred and Reden led the team with 44 and 42 points respectively, rounding out the top spots were “Team Pitman” with 143 pts. and “Team Marasigan” and “Team M. Tan” with 141 pts. each. In the overall standings “Team Pitman” leads the way with 27 pts. with “Team Marasigan” right behind them with 23.5 Pts.

Next Saturdays Tournament at Northview is our 3rd Major of the year, with the top spots worth 20 points the winners can take a big jump in the Player of the Year standings.

Week 9 of the schedule drew a field of 48 members and guests to the Peace Portal Golf Club. Two first time winners took home the top spots this week , Binky Cruz took the “A” division by 3 shots over Jess Supnet. Binky fired off 11 pars on his round of 86, net 66, to get his first win of the season. In the “B” division Mario Vibar recorded a round of 93, net 64, to take the top spot by 2 strokes over Jay Isaac and Fred Marasigan.

The low gross score for the day was turned in by GV Fragante with a round of 81 including 7 pars and 2 birdies.

The KP winners this week were: Martin Abel, Marissa Fragante, Roberto Tambunting and Bob Hayes.

In week 3 of the team competition the team of M. Tan took top points with a combined team score of 154 followed by Team Trinidad with 138, Hayes with 137 and Marasigan with 136. Leading the overall standings are Team Hayes and Team Pitman tied with 19 points each.

A field of 48 players took part in this weekends tournament held at the Meadow Gardens Golf Club in Pitt Meadows. Scoring this week was much better than in previous weeks with 19 players managing to come in at Par or better. Rene De Leon carded a round of 81, net 64, to take the top spot in the A Division, his round included 8 pars and 2 birdies and was 3 shots better than runner-up Bob Hayes. In the B Division, Cholo Cebrero made his first start of the year a successful one by taking the title in a tie-breaker over Jarett Hayes. Both players recorded scores of net 65 with Cholo coming out on top thanks to his 9 pars for the day.

The winners of the KP prizes were Kevin Jewell, Willie Ducay, Bob Hayes and Mark Pitman.

Butch Cusi recorded the low round for the tournament with a score of 75 including 9 pars and 3 birdies.

In the team event this week, the team of Jun Tan took the top spot with a score of 160 pts. followed closely by Team Hayes with 159 pts. and Team Gonzaga with 154 pts. After 2 weeks of play in the event Team Jun Tan takes the overall lead with 16 pts. 2 better than Team Pitman.
