Bob and Mark have put together a tournament in Kelowna on the August long weekend, 3 rounds of golf with power carts and 3 nights accommadations for approx. $525 per person based on double occupancy.

Golf on Saturday Aug. 1st, Sunday Aug. 2nd and Monday Aug. 3rd, at Sunset Ranch, Black Mountain and Shannon Lakes. Accommadations provided by the Capri Hotel Friday to Sunday.

This is a non sanctioned ParBreaker event with no points or PAL Qualifing points being given out.

All couples and singles are welcome, if you are interested please commit by May 16th to either Bob Hayes or Mark Pitman.

Week #7 of the season went off at the Pt. Roberts Golf Club last weekend with a field of 48 entered for our 2nd Major Tournament of the year. With cool temperatures and fast, tricky greens good scores were hard to come by. With only 1 score under par and 3 scores of par the course definitely came out on top this week.

Jess Supnet shot a round of 87 with 5 pars, and 1 birdie to take the “A” Division title in a tie-breaker over Martin Abel. This was Jess’s first win of the season. In the “B” Division Sonnie Guerrero took the top spot by 1 stroke over Tony Marasigan. Sonnie recorded 4 pars on his round of 99, net 71, this was also Sonnie’s first win.

The KP’s for this week went to Craig Thomas, Martin Abel, Kevin Jewell and Ryan Isaac.

This week was also the start of our Team Event for 2009 with 9 teams captained by this years Directors. This week first place went to Team Marasigan with a point total of 139 followed closely by Team Pitman with 137 and Team J. Tan with 136 points.

Swan-e-Set Golf Club hosted week 6 of the schedule with 48 members in the field. The course was tough to score with only 9 players managing to come in at par or better.

First year member Nong Khammountry carded a 79, net 67, to take the “A” Division title by 2 strokes. Nong’s round included 10 pars and 1 birdie on his way to the low round of the day.

Marissa Fragante recorded her 2nd win of the season taking the “B” Division by 2 strokes, her round of net 69 included 2 pars for the day.

The KP winners this week were, Brian Ashdown, Rene De Leon, JoJo Hernandez and Frank Wongsoo.

Next weeks tournament at Pt. Roberts will be our 2nd Major of the year. A reminder to all players that the border lineup could be long and slow, to make your scheduled tee time make sure you give yourself plenty of time. We do not want to be juggling the flights around for late-comers.

Week # 5 of the 2009 season was held at the Hazelmere Golf Club this past Saturday with a field of 48 entered. Once again we got lucky with the rain holding off for most of the day giving the players good playing conditions. Scoring for the day was good with 11 players coming in at par or better, Rudy Alcantara , Craig Thomas and Doug Hume all recorded the best rounds for the day with scores of 81.

Boy Holgado recorded 4 pars and 2 birdies on his round to take the “A” division title by 1 stroke over JoJo Hernandez, his par on the closing hole sealed the victory.

In the “B” division Ellis Natividad took a 2 shot victory over Garry Charles. His 7 pars and 1 birdie led him to a round of 89, net 65, for the day.

Michael Anthony, Doug Lauson, Willie Ducay and Rene De Leon were the winners of the KP’s this week.

Boy Holgado, Doug Lauson and Craig Thomas led the day in birdies made with 2 each. JoJo Hernandez and Roger Schumann each recorded 10 pars on their rounds to lead in that department.

This weeks tournament returned to the Kings Links Golf Club after a 2 year absence, with rolling greens and tough pin locations good scores were at a premium. With a field of 45 competing only 6 players were able to post scores under par.

Willie Ducay posted a round of 85, net 68, to take the “A” Division by 1 stroke over Mark Pitman, Willie’s round included 5 pars and 1 birdie.

In the “B” Division, Joni C continued his winning ways recording his 2nd victory of the season. Joni shot a round of 90, net 68, to take the title by 1 shot over Ellis Natividad. With his win Joni moves into second place in the points race 1 point behind leader Rene Cusi.

Next weekends tournament at Hazelmere Country Club will be the final tune-up before the start of this years Match Play competition set to kick off at Swaneset on April 18th.
