Point Roberts was the site for week 6 of the schedule with 44 competitors taking part. With sunny and good scoring conditions the course played tough with only 4 scores coming in at par or better.

Craig Thomas recorded 10 pars and 2 birdies on his way to a round of 80, net 66, to take the “A” Division title by 7 strokes over his nearest rivals.

In the “B” Division Karim Suleman recorded a 9 shot victory over his closest competitors. Karim shot a round of 96, net 62, with 3 pars for the day.

In the KP competition Mark Pitman, Butch Cusi, Craig Thomas and Rey Fortaleza all got wins. Craig Thomas and Butch Cusi had the most pars for the day with 10 each, while Craig and Reden Hernandez led the way in birdies with 2 each.

This weekend also saw the start of the 2008 Match Play event with Dom Cejalvo, Fred Marasigan, Jun Tan, Menchie Tan, Rene Trinidad, Michael Anthony, Butch Cusi, Felix Banting, Jess Supnet and Craig Thomas all advancing with first round wins.

This being the last Tournament for April we can award our first Player of the Month honour to Joni C. Joni recorded 19 points for March and April off of his 1 Major win and 1 second place finish in 4 tournaments played.

PAL Tournament Qualifying stats updated

2008 Match Play Event results updated.

48 members braved the cold and windy conditions at Peace Portal this past weekend to play in week 5 of the schedule with Butch Cusi and George Chua emerging as the winners in their respective divisions.

Butch recorded 9 pars and 4 birdies on his way to a round of 73, net 65, to take the title by 3 strokes over Mark Pitman. George took the “B” side in a tie-breaker over Menchie Tan, both players came in with scores of net 71. George’s round included 7 pars in a score of 98.

This weeks KP winners were Menchie Tan, Butch Cusi, Reden Hernandez and Cholo ebrero.

The best individual rounds were posted by Mark Pitman with 11 pars for the day and Butch with his 4 birdies.

Next Saturday sees the start of the 2008 Match Play event at Pt. Roberts with first round action.

Sandpiper Golf Club in Harrison Mills hosted week 3 of our schedule, with 16 members entered. This weeks winners were Bob Hayes in the “A” division and Boy Holgado in the “B” division.

Bob recorded 7 pars on his way to a round of 86, net 72, to take the title by 2 strokes over Martin Abel.

Boy Holgado shot a round of 86, net 67 to win the B side by 7 strokes over Celso Manubay.

Both Bob and Boy along with Jess Supnet and Doug Lauson led the way in pars for the day with 7 each. Martin Abel and Doug Lauson were the only players able to record a birdie on the rounds.

KP winners were Celso Manubay, Dom Cejalvo, Doug Lauson and Martin Abel.
