Okanagon Tournament Accommodations Update March 27, 2007

Rates for Lakeside Resort in Penticton, $165 plus tax for city facing room or $185 plus tax for lake facing room. Rates are for double occupancy with a $15 plus tax surcharge per person if more than 2 people stay in room. Room upgrades are also available at additional cost. These rates are discounted for our tournament group. Website for resort is www.pentictonlakesideresort.com.

A block of rooms are tentatively being held, but we must confirm the numbers by Monday April 2nd, if you would like to take advantage of this opportunity contact Bob Hayes before Sunday April 1st

Penticton Tournament Update

A pre-tournament practice round is being held on Friday July 20th at the Harvest Golf Club in Kelowna, first tee time will be around 12:00 – 1:00 pm. Anyone interested in playing contact Bob Hayes at (604) 437-3788 or by email bobhayes@telus.net

Hole-in-One Prize

Parbreakers will be sponsoring a $300 prize for the first member to score a hole-in-one this season.

Ladies Division of ParBreakers

The Ladies tournament that was cancelled on March 10th due to rain has been rescheduled for May 26th at Swaneset.

A list of tournaments for the Ladies Division can be found at the 2007 Tournament Schedule.

Okanagan Tournaments

The courses have been selected for our 1st Parbreakers Okanagan road trip. There will be 32 spots available for this tournament.

Weekly Tournament Results

The first tournament of the year was finally completed on Saturday at Point Roberts.

First winners of the year are Robin Perrin and Dave Hollinshead. Robin’s round of 87, net 72, was good enough for a 2 shot victory over playing competitor Felix Banting. Dave shot a round of 93, net 70, and won in a tie-breaker over Ellis Natividad. Both Robin and Dave take the early lead in the points standings with 12 points each.

Scores for the day reflected the wet conditions with the average score for the field coming in at 27 over par 99.

Butch Cusi led the way in the A division with 8 pars for the day while Garry Charles’ 5 pars was the best in the B division.

Felix Banting and Willie Ducay were the only players able to get a birdie on the day, each with 1.

Winners of this week’s closest to the pin prizes were, #2 George Chua, #8 Butch Cusi, #12 Roger Evans and #15 Martin Abel.

Next week’s tournament is at the Surrey Golf Club, remember to signup early to reserve your spot.

New ParBreakers Golf Association Website

The new ParBreakers Golf Association of British Columbia website has been launched.

Check out all the new features!

Opening day for the season is March 10, 2007 at Swan-e-Set Resort & Country Club in Pitt Meadows. Breakfast is served at 8:30 with a meeting following then off to the golf course!

Be sure to sign up early.

The pictures are up from the Awards Banquet also. Doug Lauson was busy! Over 100 pictures!
