The 2nd round of the 2011 Club Championships was played this past weekend at the Swaneset Golf Resort with a field of 24 members and guests entered. Despite the perfect playing conditions on the day the scores did not reflect the conditions. The “A” Division came in with an average score of 91, net 76 with the “B” Division averaging 104, net 79.

In the “A” Division, Ken Emerson narrowly held off Mark Pitman for a 1 shot victory earning his 5th win of the year. Ken carded a round of 90, net 71 on the day. In the “B” Division, Jason Supnet got his 1st win with a 1 shot edge over James Gonzaga. Jason carded a round of 96, net 67.

The KP winners this week were Robin Perrin with 3 and Rudy Alcantara with 1.

Going into the final 2 weeks of the Directors Team event things are tightening up with Team Emerson holding onto a slim 2 point advantage over Team Hayes with the Asistio team in 3rd with 94. The Jun Tan team took the top spot this week with a team score of 98 followed the the Supnet team with 95 and the Asistio team with 91.

32 players participated in this weeks tournament held at the Hazelmere Golf Club, marking the start of the 2011 Club Championship.

With only 7 of the 32 players managing to post rounds of par or better it is safe to say the course came out the winner this week. The average score for the “A” Division came in at 3 over par 75, with the “B” Division posting an average of 5 over par 77.

Bob Hayes got his 1st win of the year with a round of 85, net 66, taking the top spot by 2 shots over Boy Holgado. Bob recorded 8 pars and 1 birdie on the day.

Sonnie Guerrero took the “B” Division getting his 2nd win on a round of 91, net 66, 2 strokes better than Rene Trinidad.

Kp winners this week were: Jay Isaac, Rudy Alcantara, Rene De Leon and Fred Marasigan.

Team Asistio took the top points in the Team event with 111 combined points with Team Hayes in 2nd with 110 and Team Supnet with 105. Team Emerson continues it’s slim lead in the overall standings with 113 points just 4 points up on Team Hayes with 3 weeks remaining.

Kevin Jewell was crowned the 2011 Match Play Champion this weekend with his 5 and 4 win over Ken Emerson.

The Guildford Golf Club hosted week 20 with a field of 20 Members and guests. With the hot dry conditions scoring was good with 11 players carding rounds of par or better.

In the “A” Division, Ken Emerson got his 4th win of the year by taking the top spot by 2 shots over Rudy Alcantara with a net score of 68. In the “B” Division, Dom Cejalvo got his 1st win with a 1 shot advantage over Jesse Reyes, Dom carded a round of net 67.

Robin Perrin got the Leagues 2nd Eagle of the year by recording a 3 on the par 5 5th hole.

The KP winners were: Ken Emerson, Jess Supnet, Randy Gibson and Jon Cuhat.

In the Team event the Hayes Team took the top points this week with 113 followed by Team Emerson with 112 and Team Asistio with 109. With 4 weeks remaining Team Emerson holds onto a slim 6 point advantage over Team Hayes for the title.

In the race for Player of the Year Ken Emerson goes into the last 4 weeks holding onto a 11 point lead over Rudy Alcantara with Jon Cuhat and Rene Trinidad tied in 3rd 22 points back.

This coming weekends Tournament marks the start of our Club Championship with round 1 being played at the Hazelmere Golf Club. All handicaps will remain frozen for the duration of the playoffs.

Carnoustie Golf Club was the site for week 17 on the schedule with 24 players entered. Despite the warm sunny weather and ideal playing conditions scores for the event were high with only 2 players posting sub par rounds.

Jess Supnet got his first win of the year on a round of 82, net 68, taking the top spot in the “A” Division by 4 shots over Ken Emerson. Jess went out in 44 with 4 pars and recorded 5 pars and 1 birdie on the back nine to post 38.

In the “B” Division, Danny Aganon carded a round of 92, net 63, taking the title by 8 strokes over runner up Nick Asistio. Danny shot 46 on the front and back nines with 2 pars on each side.

The KP winners this week were: Mark Pitman with 2, Kevin Jewell and Jesse Reyes.

In the lone Match Play game Ken Emerson defeated Rene De Leon 6 and 5 to advance to the next round.

Team Asistio took the top points in the Team event with 113 total points followed by Team Emerson with 106 and Team J. Tan with 98.

Surrey Golf Club hosted week #16 on the schedule with a field of 28 players participating. With the rain holding off for the most part, scoring on the day was good with 10 players posting rounds of par or better.

Kevin Jewell got his 3rd win of the season taking the top spot in the “A” Division with a 3 stroke advantage over Rene De Leon. Kevin’s round included 8 pars and 2 birdies on the day. In the “B” Division, Nick Asistio recorded his best round of the year and took the top spot by 1 shot over Jun Tan, Nick posted a round of 95, net 63.

This weeks KP winners were: Ken Emerson, Jun Tan, Rudy Alcantara and Bryan Nebre.

In the Team Event, team Asistio and team Emerson tied for top spot this week with 120 points, with team J. Tan taking 3rd with 117. In the overall standings Team Hayes and Team Emerson are tied at the top with 79 points each.

Rudy Alcantara leads the overall point standings with 99 points followed closely by Ken Emerson with 98.7 and Jon Cuhat with 90.3.

Our next Tournament at Carnoustie will include a special “Team Event” as well as our regular tournament format. The team event will be the “Lone Ranger” format.

Belmont Golf Club was the site for week 15 on the schedule with our 4th Major Tournament played with a field of 27. Scoring on the day was good with 14 of the field posting scores of par or better. The “A” division averaged 86 for the day with the “B” division turning in an average score of 99.

In the “A” division, Willie Ducay continued his winning form picking up his 3rd win in the last 4 starts. Willie’s round of 84, net 66, was good enough to take the title by 1 shot over Marc Thomas. On the “B” side, Ken Emerson also got his 3rd win of the year in a close battle with Fred Marasigan and James Gonzaga with all 3 carding rounds of net 67 with Ken coming out on top in the tiebreaker.

The weeks KP winners were, Ken Emerson, Dom Cejalvo, Dave Hollinshead, Jun Tan, Rudy Alcantara and Randy Gibson.

For the 2nd week in a row the Hayes Team and the Emerson Team tied for the top spot in the Team event with 110 points with the Jun Tan Team taking the 3rd spot with 106. Team Hayes leads the overall standings with 73 points followed closely behind by Team Emerson with 70.5 points.

The Player of the Year race is getting closer with Rudy Alcantara in the lead with 95 points followed by Ken Emerson with 90.3 and Jon Cuhat with 89.3.

A field of 24 players were entered into week #14 at the Hazelmere Golf Club. Scores on the day reflected the good playing conditions with 8 players posting rounds of par or better. The “A” Division came in with an average score of 86, net 73, with the “B” Division posting an average of 100, net 78.

Willie Ducay recorded his 2nd win of the year in the “A” Division with a round of 82, net 66 and a 5 shot margin over his nearest competitors, Doug Hume and Robin Perrin.

James Gonzaga edged out Randy Gibson by 1 stroke to take the “B” Division title. James posted a round of 90, net 68 to get his 1st win of the year.

Kp winners this week were: Gary Perrin, Ken Emerson, Jay Isaac and Boy Holgado.

The top spot in the Team event was split between Team Hayes and Team Emerson with each team recording 111 points on the day, Team Anthony came in 3rd with 91 points.

Week 13 on the schedule was played this past weekend at the Northview Golf Club with 31 Members and Guests taking part. Scores on the day were low with 11 players posting rounds of par or better with the “A” Division averaging 87 and the “B” Division coming in at 100.

In the “A” Division, Rene De Leon took the top spot on his round of 84, net 68, beating out Rudy Alcantara by 1 stroke, this was Rene’s 2nd win of the season. Jay Isaac took home the title in the “B” Division with a round of 91, net 67, taking the top spot by 2 shots over Wes Mui.

Kp winners this week were: Wes Mui, Menchie Tan, Jess Supnet and Laurie Jewell.

In our Special Individual Event, Wes Mui took the honours with 46 points followed by Jay Isaac with 43 and Rene De Leon and Rudy Alcantara with 41 points.

The Hayes Team took the top points this week in the Directors Team Event with 119 followed by Team Supnet with 115.

Rudy Alcantara leads the way in the Player of the Year standings with 88 points followed closely behind by Jon Cuhat with 73.3 pts. and Rene De Leon with 72.5 pts.

27 players teed it up this weekend for week #12 of the season at the Swaneset Golf Resort. The course was the winner this week with only 2 players managing to post scores in the red. The average scores for the day were no doubt the highest of the year with the “A” division coming in at 90 and the “B” division posting 108 with numerous 10′s and 11′s along the way.

Willie Ducay turned in the best round of the day with a score of 83, net 67, taking the title in the “A” division by 6 shots over Jon Cuhat. Willie recorded 8 pars on his round to get his 1st win of the season. On the “B” side, Fred Marasigan played a steady and consistent round of golf posting a score of 91, net 74, to take the top spot by 3 shots over Dave Hollinshead. Fred’s round included 6 pars and 1 birdie on his way to his 1st win of the year.

In the lone Match Play game Dom Cejalvo advanced to the next round with a 1 up win over Bob Hayes, Dom will now take on Jess Supnet this weekend at Northview.

Team Emerson took the top spot in this weekends Directors team event with 103 pts. followed by Team J. Tan with 91 and Team M. Tan with 90. With their win Team Emersson moves back into a tie with Team Hayes for the overall top spot.

June 11th saw a field of 28 members and guests particapate in our first trip to the Carnoustie Golf Club. With sunny skies and dry conditions scores for the day were good with 10 players carding rounds of par or better, the “B” division led the way in that department with 9 out of the 10.

A pair of players got their 3rd wins of the year taking the top spots in each division. Rudy Alcantara parred 9 holes and birdied 1 other to post a round of 82, net 71, taking the “A” division by 1 stroke over 3 other players. In the “B” division Gary Perrin shot a round of 92, net 63, to take the title in a tiebreaker over Tom Murray.

Kp winners this weekend were, Paul Dhaliwal with 2, Mark Pitman and Rudy Alcantara taking the other 2.

In the Directors Team event, the Hayes team continued their fine play by taking the top points again this week with 115 points with the Supnet Team a close 2nd with 113 points and the J. Tan team rounding out the top three with 111 points. With their win the Hayes team holds onto top spot in the overall points race with 42 points, 4 points up on the 2nd place team.

With their wins this week both Rudy and Gary take over the top 2 spots in the Player of the Year race, Rudy in front with 79.5 points and Gary close behind with 71.5 points.
