Mayfair Lakes May 12, 2012

Mayfair Lakes hosted week #7 under hot and sunny conditions with a field of 24 vying for the top spots. However, as was the case in our previous outings at Mayfair the scoring was tough with only 3 players able to post scores of par or better. The average score on the day for the “A” Division was 92 with the “B” Division posting an average of 105.

Kevin Jewell birdied 4 holes enroute to a round of net 70 and a 2 shot victory over Willie Ducay in the “A” Division, this was Kevin’s first win of the year. In the “B” Division, Rey Fortaleza also got his first win with a round of net 65 and a 6 shot victory over Dick Elrick.

Paul Dhaliwal continued his league leading KP count with the addition of 2 more this week bringing his total to 5 for the year, other KP winners were Kevin Jewell and guest Rob.

Mark Pitman continues to lead the way in the Player of the Year points with 51.5 after his 5th place tie and 5.5 points, his lead is 2.5 points over Robin Perrin after picking up 7 points this week with his 4th place finish.

Redwoods May 5, 2012

A field of 24 members were entered in the Redwoods tournament this past weekend. As is usually the case at Redwoods the scoring was difficult with the “A” Division averaging 88 and the “B” Division carding an average of 107.

Ken Emerson got his first win of the year taking the “A” side with a round of net 67, 2 strokes better than Mark Pitman and Robin Perrin. On the “B” side, Jay Isaac also got win #1 with a round of 73, and a 4 shot advantage over 3 players.

The Kp winners were Gary Perrin, Doug Hume, Noel Ortiz Luis and Craig Thomas.

With his 2nd place tie Mark Pitman takes the lead in the overall standings with 46 points with Robin Perrin moving into second place just 4 points back with 42 points.

Northview April 28 2012

The Canal course at the Northview Golf Club hosted week 4 with a field of 28 players taking part in the weekend action. Scoring this week was good with 12 players carding rounds of par or better.

Robin Perrin led the way in the “A” Division taking the top spot with a score of 75, net 61, and a 3 shot advantage over Ryan Isaac. Robin posted 11 pars and 2 birdies on the day.

Bob Hayes posted 7 pars and 1 birdie on his round of 85, net 66, taking the “B” Division title by 3 shots over Frank Wongsoo and Dave Hollinshead.

Kp winners on the day were, Bob Hayes with 2, Danny Aganon and Rene Trinidad.

Ryan Isaac took home Player of the Month honours thanks to his total of 38.5 pts. for the months of March/April.

Player of the Year standings continue to be close with Ryan leading the way with 38.5 pts. with Dom Cejalvo a close 2nd with 32.5 and Mark Pitman in 3rd with 29 pts.

Hazelmere April 21, 2012

19 Members and guests took part in this weekends tournament held at the Hazelmere Golf Club. With sunny and warm conditions the scoring conditions were good and the scores reflected this with 6 players carding scores under par.

Paul Dhaliwal recorded his 2nd win in as many starts with a score of 65 taking the top spot in the “A” Division by 2 shots over Ken Emerson. In the “B” Division, Gary Perrin also recorded his 2nd win of the year with a round of 68 and a 5 stroke victory over Jay Isaac.

The Kp winners were: Dom Cejalvo, Jess Supnet, Boy Holgado and Paul Dhaliwal.

Dom continues to lead the way in the Player of the Year standings with 31.5 points, 2 better than Ryan Isaac.

Homestead Golf Club April 14, 2012

Homestead Golf Club was the site for the latest tournament with a field of 20 players participating. Scoring proved difficult on the day with the average scores being higher than expected. The A Division averaged 4 over par 76, with the B Division coming in with the same score.

Paul Dhaliwal took the top spot in “A” with a score of 2 under par 70, his card included 7 pars and 1 birdie. Boy Holgado took the “B” side with a 6 under par 66, with 6 pars and 1 birdie on his round.

This weeks Kp winners were: Jess Supnet, Boy Holgado, Robin Perrin and Jennie Hollinshead.

Dom Cejalvo leads the way in the points standings with a total of 29 points thanks to his 3rd place finish this weekend, he holds a 3 point advantage over Boy Holgado and Mark Pitman.

Mayfair Lakes April 7th 2012

The first Major Tournament of the year was held at the Mayfair Lakes Golf Club with a field of 24 competing for the top points. With sunny skies and warm conditions the scores on the front nine were good and it looked like it would take a low score to take the titles, however, the wind picked up on the final 9 holes and wreaked havoc with most if not all players. The “A” Division averaged scores of 46 – 50 for a total of 96 while the “B” Division struggled with averages of 52 – 56 for a total of 108.

Ryan Isaac managed to hold his round together with scores of 42 and 45 for a total of 87, net 74, to take the top spot in “A” by 1 shot over Mark Pitman. Dom Cejalvo shot the low round in “B” with scores of 47 – 52 for a 99 total, net 75, taking the title by 2 strokes over Sonny Rarama.

Paul Dhaliwal took 2 KP’s this week with Jun Tan and Noel Ortiz Luis each taking 1.

Week 1 got off to a less than ideal start with constant rain and cold temperatures. A field of 36 started the day with only 24 players completeing all 18 holes. Doug Hume had the low round of the day carding a 72 net 66 taking the “A” Division by 3 shots over Willie Ducay. In the “B” Division, Gary Perrin took the title with a round of 92, net 66 and a convincing 9 shot lead over Jay Isaac.

The KP winners were: Doug Hume with 2, Vic Legaspi and Cholo Cebrero.

Swan-e-Set Golf Resort September 3, 2011

The 2nd round of the 2011 Club Championships was played this past weekend at the Swaneset Golf Resort with a field of 24 members and guests entered. Despite the perfect playing conditions on the day the scores did not reflect the conditions. The “A” Division came in with an average score of 91, net 76 with the “B” Division averaging 104, net 79.

In the “A” Division, Ken Emerson narrowly held off Mark Pitman for a 1 shot victory earning his 5th win of the year. Ken carded a round of 90, net 71 on the day. In the “B” Division, Jason Supnet got his 1st win with a 1 shot edge over James Gonzaga. Jason carded a round of 96, net 67.

The KP winners this week were Robin Perrin with 3 and Rudy Alcantara with 1.

Going into the final 2 weeks of the Directors Team event things are tightening up with Team Emerson holding onto a slim 2 point advantage over Team Hayes with the Asistio team in 3rd with 94. The Jun Tan team took the top spot this week with a team score of 98 followed the the Supnet team with 95 and the Asistio team with 91.

Hazelmere Golf Club August 27, 2011

32 players participated in this weeks tournament held at the Hazelmere Golf Club, marking the start of the 2011 Club Championship.

With only 7 of the 32 players managing to post rounds of par or better it is safe to say the course came out the winner this week. The average score for the “A” Division came in at 3 over par 75, with the “B” Division posting an average of 5 over par 77.

Bob Hayes got his 1st win of the year with a round of 85, net 66, taking the top spot by 2 shots over Boy Holgado. Bob recorded 8 pars and 1 birdie on the day.

Sonnie Guerrero took the “B” Division getting his 2nd win on a round of 91, net 66, 2 strokes better than Rene Trinidad.

Kp winners this week were: Jay Isaac, Rudy Alcantara, Rene De Leon and Fred Marasigan.

Team Asistio took the top points in the Team event with 111 combined points with Team Hayes in 2nd with 110 and Team Supnet with 105. Team Emerson continues it’s slim lead in the overall standings with 113 points just 4 points up on Team Hayes with 3 weeks remaining.

Kevin Jewell was crowned the 2011 Match Play Champion this weekend with his 5 and 4 win over Ken Emerson.

Guildford Golf Club August 20, 2011

The Guildford Golf Club hosted week 20 with a field of 20 Members and guests. With the hot dry conditions scoring was good with 11 players carding rounds of par or better.

In the “A” Division, Ken Emerson got his 4th win of the year by taking the top spot by 2 shots over Rudy Alcantara with a net score of 68. In the “B” Division, Dom Cejalvo got his 1st win with a 1 shot advantage over Jesse Reyes, Dom carded a round of net 67.

Robin Perrin got the Leagues 2nd Eagle of the year by recording a 3 on the par 5 5th hole.

The KP winners were: Ken Emerson, Jess Supnet, Randy Gibson and Jon Cuhat.

In the Team event the Hayes Team took the top points this week with 113 followed by Team Emerson with 112 and Team Asistio with 109. With 4 weeks remaining Team Emerson holds onto a slim 6 point advantage over Team Hayes for the title.

In the race for Player of the Year Ken Emerson goes into the last 4 weeks holding onto a 11 point lead over Rudy Alcantara with Jon Cuhat and Rene Trinidad tied in 3rd 22 points back.

This coming weekends Tournament marks the start of our Club Championship with round 1 being played at the Hazelmere Golf Club. All handicaps will remain frozen for the duration of the playoffs.
